Industry

The region's industry embraces 60 companies.

Over 18,300 people are engaged in the industry, 38.7% of all the people involved in the production.

The regional engineering and metal-working industries account for 37.9% of the industry, foods 18.8%, construction materials 17.6%, wood-working 11.7%, light industry 4.1% and others 9.9%.
The companies are working hard to increase the export of their products.

Russia accounts for the largest part of the exports, $77.7 million or 58.9%, non-CIS countries - 36.7%, CIS countries (except Russia) - 4.4%.

The region mainly exports ceramics, ready-made garments, furniture, tractor cabs, machine tools, potentiostats, transmission equipment, confectionary, spirits, frozen berries, birch juice, dairy products, flour, medical instruments, pumps, metalware, steel pipes, friction discs, anti-friction and construction items, heat sinks, millwork, cellular concrete, dry mix, lime, bricks, timber.

As of January 1, 2008, 32 organisations received certificates of compliance with the international standards. Besides, some of them got standards of the Russian Federation (Molodechno Metalware Plant, the Zabudova Company, Molodechno Metal Products Plant). The introduction of standard at the Strum Company is being completed.

The two companies (Molodechno Metalware Plant and the Zabudova Company) got the right for CE-marking.

The Minsk Furniture Centre has a certificate of the IKEA standard compliance.
